David is a Chartered Professional Accountant with more than 35 years of experience providing Strategic Financial Leadership, Business Advisory services, and executive C-Suite level Financial Management across a diverse range of industries and organizational structures.

He began his career in the Oil and Gas Industry, Serving in Controller and Financial leadership roles where he gained extensive experience overseeing Accounting Operations, Financial Reporting, Budgeting, and Business Performance Management within complex and fastpaced environments. 

This early experience provided a strong operational and commercial foundation that continues to influence his practical advisory approach today.

After working Internationally, David returned to Canada and joined KPMG, where he further developed his expertise in Accounting, Audit, Financial Reporting, and Business Advisory services moving to Senior Leadership at KMPG. His time in public practice provided valuable insight into the Financial and Operational challenges faced by Organizations across a variety of Industries and strengthened his ability to support Business Owners and Leadership teams through growth and change.

Following his time with KPMG, David founded Forge and later brought on AmandaBeret Gerber as a Co-Founder. Together, they built Forge into a trusted Advisory and Accounting firm serving organizations across Western Canada for 15 years, when he semi-retired AmandaBeret and Elaine created change and in 2025 AmandaBeret and Elaine rebranded under new focus as BRIO Operations Inc. Through these past 15 years, David worked closely with Business Owners, Executive Teams, Boards of Directors, and Leadership groups, providing Strategic Guidance through growth, transition, restructuring, acquisitions, operational change, and long term planning initiatives.

Throughout his career, David has worked with organizations across Canada and Internationally, helping leaders strengthen financial performance, improve decision making, and create sustainable organizational value.

Today, while semi-retired, David continues to provide advisory services to a variety of organizations and leadership teams. As a Senior Advisory Partner and Fractional CFO, he offers Executive Level Financial guidance, helping organizations improve Financial Visibility, Develop Strategic plans, Navigate Complex challenges, and position themselves for long term success.
